Skateboard Park Design Process   SPA Skateparks is a full service design-build firm that works closely with the community, municipality, general contractor, architect/engineer, and skateboarders to provide a seamless project from creation to completion. Although untraditional in nature, a design-build contractor (single firm designing and building the entire project) has proven to be the most valuable option. A quality skateboard park takes precise and timely coordination and planning. Skateparks require expertise, and that is what SPA Skateparks offers. We are skatepark specialists offering a quality product throughout the entire process combining all of our skatepark-specific skills: communication, planning, design, organization, bidding, contracting, construction, and follow-through.  1. Q and A sessions. Because of the unique nature of skateparks we enjoy meeting with city officials and local advocacy groups to get a thorough understanding of the area, project specifications, limitations, budget, goals and focus. This is your time to ask questions and raise any concerns that will need to be addressed before proceeding to the next step.  2. Design meeting. Next we communicate with local design team and/or advocacy group - usually by way of public input meetings. This allows SPA Skateparks to understand the following important factors before creating your communities vision: what the skaters in your specific area want and need, the concerns of the community that the team has encountered, and to see a hand or computer drawn image of what the team envisions. All of this is important to fully comprehend the vision and to design a skatepark that turns it into a reality. 3. Design and 3D renderings. Based on the information we have gathered we create a unique, innovative and jaw dropping design specific to your area. Every skatepark is unique, innovative and fresh. We do not have template designs! Our “Pro Inspired Design Projects” incorporate well-known professional skateboarders' design idea and innovation as part of the park. We supply full color prints showing various angles of the proposed design for public display. We also supply copies for your local advocates for additional ideas and remarks. 4. Construction documents and permits. Once the concept design is finished we draw up the final construction documents. Usually this consists of SPA Skateparks coordinating with locally licensed landscape architects, civil engineers, and municipalities until skatepark construction documents are completed. 5.
