City of Schertz Texas Skate Park

Grand Opening on Tues, March 18, 2014 at 5pm.

The City of Schertz Texas Skate Park was developed alongside the community, recognizing it’s the first phase of several. In the Fall of 2013, the user group identified several desired terrain types. Plenty of flat ground terrain for technical street style skating was the primary consensus. The plan to design-build subsequent phases at a later date, when funding allows, was essential. And finally, creating a skate park unique to the City of Schertz.

Three concentric circle skate park design lends a good flow of traffic when the park is heavily used. A themed “Z” ledge feature identifies the letter Z in the spelling of “Schertz”. A flat rail located in the middle of the park has plenty of approach and run-out space. A multi-elevated manual pad zone provides endless opportunities for manual and flip trick combinations.

SPA Skateparks is proud to have once again acted as General Contractor for this design-build skate park, alongside our friends and design consultant New Line Skateparks. SPA Skateparks provided a turn-key solution for the Schertz Skate Park, including site selection assistance, a series of public meetings during the design development phase, presentation of conceptual designs, and the preparation and issuance of professionally sealed construction plans. Our professional skate park construction crews diligently performed all scopes of work, while coordinating with the City’s inspection department, third party materials testing firm, and other material vendors.

The City of Schertz Texas Skate Park is located on Community Circle, next to the City’s Animal Control Facility. Parking is available at the parking lot next to the skate park.
