City of Georgetown Texas Garey Park Skate Park & Pump Track
Update: September 3, 2026 – The City of Georgetown’s Garey Park Skate Park and Pump Track IS OPEN. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held earlier today at 10 a.m. The City may hold a public skatepark grand opening event later this year. Stay tuned here or on our socials, including the official SPA Skateparks Instagram account. Take care of the park and each other. It’s an all-wheel facility for everyone – kids, adults, beginners and experts. All-wheels. Nothing but good vibes here.
What are the Hours of Garey Park Skate Park and Pump Track? And how much does it cost?
As of this writing, the City of Georgetown’s website lists Garey park hours as: Spring/Summer (April 1-Sept. 30) – 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fall/Winter (Oct. 1-March 31) – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Garey Park requires an entrance fee to enter. Per person (Daily Entrance Fee). $2 Resident / $5 Nonresident and Children ages 3 and under are Free. As an option, there’s an annual pass $75 Resident / $125 Non-resident. We’ve done the math. Purchasing an annual pass makes sense if you plan on skating more than 38 days a year as a resident. Or more than 25 times a year as a non-resident. Confirm the above hours and fees by visiting the City of Georgetown’s Garey Park website at Hours and Entrance Fees.
Project Overview: Garey Park Skate Park and Pump Track
The City of Georgetown’s Skate Park and Pump Track in Garey Park is officially named the “Skate Ranch”. Halff Associates led the design team as Prime Architect. STR Constructors won the bid for construction and led the overall construction of Garey Park Phase 2 Improvements. SPA Skateparks is proud to have been selected and procured directly by the City as its specialty construction contractor for a second time. In 2025, SPA Skateparks completed the San Gabriel Skatepark located near just off Interstate 35 near Blue Hole Park where people swim next to the limestone bluffs of the San Gabriel River. The incredibly professional and experienced Parks and Recreation leadership managed the entire project as Owner.

While New Line led the Garey Park Skate Ranch design, SPA focuses on municipal skatepark and pump track contracting in Texas and beyond. Serving as either General Contractor or as a self-performing specialty skatepark subcontractor, SPA Skateparks stands ready to fit into any project, with any arrangement.

Terrain: Garey Park Skate Ranch
The Garey Park Skate Park and Pump Track is approximately 33,000 square feet of concrete terrain in a 50,000 square foot footprint. The Skate Ranch can be summarized by having three main rideable terrain areas – a concrete pump track, pool bowl and plaza. It’s a massive facility that truly does check all the boxes for different terrain types.
Concrete Pump Track at Garey Park in Georgetown
The pump track area consists of multiple flow lines. And although it’s meant for all (non-motorized) wheeled sports, there is a specific jump line for bikes. A rider can weave through a few different routes as the track splits into different directions. No asphalt pump track here. The City had the foresight to construct a concrete pump track that will withstand public park usage and not heave or crack under the engineered, structural building pad. The result is a project that requires little to no maintenance other than general housekeeping. Concrete provides a smoother surface suitable for all user groups.

Garey Skate Ranch: Pool Bowl
The pool bowl depths at Garey Park Skatepark are 8.5 feet in the deep end and 5 feet in the shallow end. No pool coping here. Instead, Diamond Grind round metal coping wraps all the way around. For those bowl heads out there, you get a textured coping that creates a rattle sound and board feel while grinding.
Skate Ranch: Plaza
The plaza section at Georgetown’s Skate Ranch was purposefully spread out to create a lot of room for pushing around, setting up for tricks, avoiding any crash-up derby traffic. Smaller skatepark plazas sometimes force users to start or finish their runs on an elevated section of the park. At the Skate Ranch the added space creates a real urban plaza feel with much more flexibility to focus on individual features. Or, with some pushing, a rider can gather his/her thoughts and put together some really long trick lines. Here’s a listing of some of features you’ll find at Garey Park Skate Ranch plaza area.
- Bank with Bump-to-Rail and Stair Set
- A-Frame / Pyramid Bank with “G” logo Rail (for City of Georgetown)
- A variety of ledges – flat and hubba
- Another stair set – 7 stair with hubba and handrail
- One foot bank with Pier 7 Feature
- Final Touches: Garey Park Skate Park
- A variety of banks, rails and quarter pipes
- Euro / London gap
Final Touches: Georgetown Garey Park Skate Park & Pump Track
For the Garey Park Improvements Phase 2 project, SPA Skateparks scope of work focused specifically on the custom skatepark and pump track concrete terrain via a direct contract with the City. But it’s worth mentioning all the other final touches and supporting amenities that make the Skate Ranch comfortable for everyone. Synthetic turf contrasts and softens the interior of the pump track. Post-and-rail fencing around the park mark the outer limits of the Skate Ranch area while providing a genuine, “ranch” feel. A limestone block restroom facility is positioned at the entrance to the Skate Ranch, complete with a water fountain and bottle filling station, and a shaded area to stay cool.
A block seating wall lines the entrance too. In the morning hours there’s plenty of shade here. As it gets later in the day, the massive Live Oak canopy will likely be a refuge for those still riding in the summer months. The facility does NOT have a skate park lighting system. Remember, Garey Park as a whole has set hours so skating at night was never an option here. Finally, Central Texas xeriscape landscaping wraps the skatepark area with Bermuda perimeter seed. The result is a pleasant, Central Texas inspired ranch feel.
History of Garey Park in Georgetown
Part of what makes this skate park and pump track special is the history of the park on which it’s located. We all have Mr. Jack Garey and his wife Cammy to thank for this amazing facility, and Garey Park as a whole. In 2004, they donated 525 acres of land that they called home to the City along with funds for phase one construction of the park. After Mr. Garey’s death in 2022, the City discovered he had left an additional $20 million for the City to spend on additional improvements.
That’s where the Garey Park Skate Park and Pump Track came into the picture. The Garey home, now called “The Garey House”, has since been renovated and is utilized by the City as an event venue. If you’re ready to get married, look no further. It’s a beautiful property with rolling hills, ponds, trails and even an overnight lodging space. With developers building all around the property, the park is a reminder of what the Central Texas landscape was in yester-year. There are stories of Mr. Garey riding his side-by-side or horses, his dogs running alongside, greeting people at the park entrance gate, letting people in for free (when he really shouldn’t have). But hey, who was going to stop him?
